Where and when do I drop off my child?

Drop off and pick up for your children participating in Windham Mountain Kids is our Base Camp facility, located to the right of the main breezeway entrance on the first floor of The Lodge at Windham Mountain Club.

Drop-Off Times by Age:

  • 3-6 years old: 8:30am-9:15am (inside Base Camp)
  • 7-12 years old: 9:00am-9:15am (outside Base Camp)

Lessons start at 9:30am

Please note late drop-offs can be disruptive to the dynamic of the group lesson. We reserve the right to turn away students that arrive after the drop-off period ends.

Is lunch provided?

Yes, snacks and lunch are provided. We recommend feeding your child a good breakfast before attending Windham Mountain Kids.

Snacks and lunch are a variety of kid friendly food including: goldfish, string cheese, apple and orange slices, carrot sticks with ranch, pretzels, pizza, mac and cheese, hot dogs, chicken nuggets.

My child has allergies.
  • We are a nut-free facility and do not allow nuts of any kind to be consumed in Base Camp.
  • If your child has an allergy, please note it on their child registration profile when you sign up and we can accommodate all but the most complex and severe allergies.
  • If your child wishes to bring their own lunch they are welcome to do so as long as it is nut free, we have a refrigerator and can keep it cold and convenient.
  • We require Epi-pens to be kept on the child in case something were to happen and the child is not next to their adult. We have pouches for holding Epi-pens if your child does not have an appropriate pocket.
  • We cannot administer any other medication.
  • For specific questions please email: [email protected]
My 6-year old wants to ski with their 7-year old friend. Can they ski with the big kids?
  • We have strict safety policies and procedures when it comes to lift riding and security protocols that are more stringent for our younger participants. Additionally, the day is paced more appropriately for 6 year olds and group sizes are smaller for this age group. For these important safety reasons, we do not allow 6-year olds to participate in the 7-12 age group.
  • If your 6 and 7 year olds are insisting on skiing together, please consider booking a private lesson.
Do children need to be fully toilet trained in order to sign up for instruction?

All children must be fully toilet-trained to participate in Windham Mountain Kids. We do not have appropriate facilities for changing diapers and our staff is not qualified to do so.

Can I pick my child up for lunch and bring them back afterwards, is this allowed?

Lunch is an important time for groups to bond, laugh, set goals and spend time together. It is also quick as our primary goal is skiing and riding. It can often be difficult to reconnect a child to their group without disrupting the experience of other group members. Once a child has been picked up by their parents, they are considered signed out for the day and cannot return to the lesson.

What should my child wear and bring?

Your child should come dressed to be outside for the day. We recommend long underwear (pajamas work great!) under snow pants, a warm, preferably fleece top, under a warm waterproof jacket, ski socks that come up to their knees, mittens (especially for younger kids) and a neck warmer/gaiter/buff that they feel comfortable in. They need to bring goggles and excitement! If they are 3, we suggest a change of clothes since you never know what might happen.

My child is really nervous, am I allowed to stay with them?

For the safety and security of all the children in the program, we are a parent free facility. Talk to your kids about what the day is going to look like and that you will be back at the end of the day to hear how much fun they had. Make drop off quick, long goodbyes make separating harder. Once they meet their instructor and start playing everyone is typically ok. We encourage parents to not try and hang around outside or while groups are in session, as having your child see you throughout the day can make the separation process repeat.

If your child is really in a place where they need you there, please book a two hour private lesson and you can be with them the whole time.
